Blake Harlan grew up in Austin, Texas where he first began racing mountain bikes. Harlan attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where he recently graduated with a degree in Economics. Blake has been racing professionally for the past three years on the Jamis Factory Racing Team. Over the last couple seasons Harlan has focused on ultra endurance events, specifically stage racing.
In 2010 Harlan tackled four stage races; the BC Bike Race, Transylvania Epic, Breck Epic and La Ruta de los Conquistadores. In 2011, Harlan has already raced on three continents, starting the year off with an Overall Victory at Trans Andes Challenge. After Chile, Blake traveled to South Africa where he competed in the Absa Cape Epic. At 24 years old, Harlan is one of the youngest racers taking on ultra endurance MTB events. The Mongolian Bike Challenge will be Harlan’s fourth stage race of the season and will be the longest stage race to date.
